Whoopi Goldberg collapses on 'The View'

The View alert: Whoopi Goldberg is down. We repeat: Goldberg is — once again — down at the Hot Topics table.

The actress and View moderator raised the show's terror level to its maximum level when she flexed her EGOT-winning acting skills during Thursday morning's live show, as the 69-year-old revived her recurring bit of collapsing at the table during particularly boring, torturous, or generally uninteresting conversations — this time, about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

Goldberg's disdain stemmed from her fellow panelists enthusiastically breaking down a recent episode of the Bravo reality show that saw the cast reading disparaging text messages about each other, out loud to each other, which legal expert Sunny Hostin called a "mean" exercise.

"This is like Mean Girls on steroids," Alyssa Farah Griffin (and The View's resident Bravo stan), while Hostin jumped in to ask, "Who does that?"

Griffin clarified for her cohost that the move was done "to address the issue so it doesn't fester," and praised producer Andy Cohen, saying he "deserves all the awards" for his team orchestrating the moment on camera.

Meanwhile, Goldberg looked around, silent, confused, and — eventually — with her head in hands, as her eyelids drooped further and further as she pretended to nap during the chat.

Full Goldberg collapse, however, didn't happen until comedian Joy Behar weighed in.

"People's plastic surgery is off limits," Behar said of the RHOSLC ladies taking digs at physical appearance. "You don't go around saying, 'That's some nose job you've got!'"

It was at this moment that Goldberg gently lowered her head to the Hot Topics table in silent protest.

She later waved her hands in the air (with her head still obscured), motioning for producers to cut to a commercial, prompting Behar to observe, "Whoopi's trying to get out of here." Then, without hesitation, the show got the hell out of there.

But, unfortunately for Goldberg, the fun didn't stop there. When guest Ben Stiller joined the women for an interview, he resurfaced the painful bit. "Can I just say something? Are you guys really calling out The Real Housewives for showing their texts? We love that! That's what that show is!"

Other notable Goldberg collapses in the recent past occurred after View guest Michael Eric Dyson called North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson "white supremacy by ventriloquism," when cohost Ana Navarro name-dropped yet another famous friend, and when Griffin worked her favorite pop star, Taylor Swift, into an unrelated conversation on the air.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/PT on ABC.
