Whitney Leavitt Says She Wants to 'Continue to Be Myself' in “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” Season 2
Amid reports of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' season 2, Whitney Leavitt shared some of her hopes for the new season
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt opened up about what she hopes to show the world in the second season of the reality series amid reports of its renewal.
In an interview on Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe on Oct. 3, the 31-year-old soon-to-be mom of three revealed that she wants to "be herself" in the second season, especially after all of the drama that unfolded in season 1.
"I don't wanna feel like I need to have some calculated game," Whitney said. "If there's animosity towards other women — which there is — I would love to, like, sit down and figure out what that is."
Throughout the first season, the tension was high between Whitney and the rest of the women of MomTok — which included Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley.
While the season ended on a question mark after Whitney decided to officially leave MomTok, she shared her hopes for redemption in the new season.
"During that time, I was going through so much that when I watch it, I'm like, 'Well, yeah, I was reacting that way because of [X, Y and Z],' " Whitney continued. "There's a reason why we react to certain things in our life. And, unfortunately, there was some context that wasn't there as to why I made certain decisions or as to why I reacted that way, which doesn't always make it right."

Whitney noted that she recognized some of her reactions to the drama were "dramatic," but she hopes to "continue to be myself" in the new season.
"What I really learned from this last season is I just wanna let go of what I can't control," she added. "I can't control what other women are gonna say or do or whatever, but, like, I control what I can control and I also don't wanna take things as personally as I did in the first season."
TMZ first reported The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 renewal on Oct. 2, reporting that the whole cast from season 1 is expected to return for season 2. While it's unclear if there will be any new additions to the cast, Deadline reported that pre-production is already in early stages in Utah.
Along with the questions about where Whitney stands with the other women, season 2 may also answer questions about Taylor and Dakota's relationship and whether or not Jennifer will stay involved with MomTok after she moved out of state.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 1 is now streaming on Hulu.
