Wheel of Fortune is hitting an incredible TV milestone, and fans can't hold back their excitement about it.

The hit game show premiered its first episode on television back in January 1975, and new episodes have been airing consistently since. While the hosts have changed over the years (Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak as emcee in September 2024), people have continuously tuned in to watch contestants guess their way into earning money from the iconic puzzle board.

In 2025, Wheel of Fortune is celebrating its 50th TV anniversary, and social media correspondent Maggie Sajak was on hand to help celebrate the incredible achievement. Starring in a video posted on the show's Instagram on January 6, she delivered five fun facts about the history of the show throughout its monumental run.

"To celebrate Wheel's 50th Anniversary, we're coming at you with 5 fun facts a day that you might not know about the show!" read the official caption alongside the clip. "Did any of these surprise you?! 🤔."

When folks realized just how long Wheel of Fortune has been a staple in their homes, they immediately rushed to the comments to take part in the celebration.

"Happy 50th, bestie! ❤️❤️❤️❤️," one person wrote. "Congratulations on 50 years. May it continue for another 50. ❤️🙏❤️🙏🥰❤️," another penned. "Congrats on 50 amazing years! It's a true honor to watch this show every night," a different viewer added.

As Wheel of Fortune celebrates its major milestone, social media isn't the only place the show will honor it. As Ryan shared with Good Morning America (per ABC News) back in December 2024, he has high hopes for what could be in store for the season.

"I plan to walk out and give away a lot of money to celebrate the 50 years," he said in an Instagram clip. "Hopefully we give away a million dollars. I want that million dollar wedge to make it to the end so somebody gets to win that."

Congrats, and we can't wait to see what's in store!
