Wedding guest hits back at critics over 'horrible' outfit choice: 'Ignorant'
The TikToker ignited a debate with followers insisting the pale green dress looked white
Popular TikToker, Lauren Candy, found herself in the midst of an internet storm recently after sharing a video of herself showing off what she considered the "perfect" wedding guest outfit.
Lauren showcased the ASOS embroidered midi-dress on her TikTok, calling it "quite possibly the most beautiful wedding guest dress ever."
The online retailer describes the $220 bridesmaid dress as 'sage green,' however, the internet had different ideas.

As the video gained traction, amassing over four million views, commenters began raising concerns, arguing that the dress might be too close to white, creating the ultimate wedding guest faux pas.
Self appointed online fashion police urged Lauren to err on the side of caution and choose a safer, more distinguishable colour to avoid any potential mishaps in photographs.
Their advice was unequivocal, "It's basically white, don't do it, girl."
"This is super pretty but I feel like it could be too close to white, especially in photos," one person commented, before another added, "If there's a chance that it looks white on camera it's a no-go! The safe decision is to wear a different dress."
"Girl, this is white," another person stated, "totally not appropriate for a wedding."
But amidst the critics, there were those who came to Lauren's defence, asserting that the dress was, in fact, green.
Quick to dispel any doubts, many followers blamed the lighting in her room for the colour confusion with one proclaiming, "no one in person would think that is white."
"It's definitely green," another follower defended, "you can clearly see it’s not white, people are all just blind and ignorant in the comments and always have to hate… WEAR IT."
In response to the debate, Lauren made a follow-up video that has since been viewed over a million times, to settle the matter once and for all.
"Y'all making me doubt my eyesight now, so let's prove it's green," she said.
Placing the green dress alongside a white singlet, Lauren clearly demonstrated the distinct difference in shades.
As viewers began to realise their mistake, the comments shifted, with many quick to admit their error in judgement.
"Ohhh wow, this looks so different than the other video! The first vid was really deceiving colour-wise," one said.
Another concluded, "Consider my mind changed."
