An Aussie bride has captured TikTok's attention with her choice of a completely sheer wedding dress, explaining that she wore it as a powerful message to her future daughter.
Bride, Ashley Raso, shared the journey of her wedding preparations on social media, with a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the bespoke after-party dress crafted by House of Harper.
Sharing the video on TikTok, Raso wrote across the footage "POV: You wore a see-through wedding dress to teach your future daughter to be fearless," a sentiment she elaborated on in her caption.
"House of Harper thank you for trusting in my vision to bring this dress to life," she wrote. "I have had a passion for design and fashion all of my life and so when I went to Danny and Isabelle with a bold vision to make a see-through wedding dress, the ultimate fashion statement, the were instantly thrilled and on board."
She went on to say the team had collectively pushed themselves to think creatively and outside of the box, whilst still keeping the dress refined and classy.
"The end product exceeded all of my expectations," she wrote.
The video showcased the dress's transformation from initial sketches to the finished product, with the sheer gown featuring intricate lace appliqué, off-the-shoulder sleeves with pearl buttons, and a stylish cutout at the back. Raso complemented the sheer fabric by pairing it with a white bandeau and revealing white underwear.
TikTok users were quick to respond, with many hailing the dress as iconic.
"Absolutely obsessed!! Love love love," commented one person, while another responded, "This dress is STUNNING, and you are so beautiful."
The fearless intention behind the bold design was praised by another user who wrote, "I love this dress and I love that you are showing your daughter that you are beautiful no matter what you wear. To be comfortable in your own skin."
Raso also clarified on her TikTok account that she had worn a seperate dress for the ceremony, changing into the sheer dress for her reception.
