Yahoo Lifestyle Watch David Genat Leave Sydnee High and Dry in 'Deal or No Deal Island' Sneak Peek (Exclusive)
Last week, Deal or No Deal Island returned for its second season, and hit the ground running. A brand-new cast arrived on the Banker's island, including Survivor winners David Genat and Parvati Shallow. Sydnee Peck established herself as one of the biggest characters of the season, showing an early infatuation with David. And Luke Olejniczak had just about the worst premiere any reality TV contestant could have, a veritable Murphy's Law that ended his journey with making a "bad deal" and adding only $1 to the prize pot.

As the players are all trying to sniff out their friends versus their foes, the Excursion on this week's episode is a way to fast track that exercise. As explained by host Joe Mangianello, the players will go on a "twisted treasure hunt" through the jungle, searching for unmarked cases. They'll work together in duos, with someone from the teams with the two lowest amounts in their cases eliminated. And Mangianello lights the fuse with one phrase: "Okay, go ahead and pick your partners."
In the exclusive sneak peek above, you can see the dozen competitors scrambling for picks. Parvati immediately grabs onto Phillip Solomon, as they dub themselves the "Black Widow and the Blacker Widow." And, while Sydnee had told David during the previous episode that she planned to pick him for every team challenge, clearly the feelings aren't mutual.
Sydnee looks back, assuming she and David are locked in. Instead, she sees him fist-bumping with Dickson Wong. She looks equal parts confused and devastated at being left out. And all she receives in the form of comforting words is, "It's better." Though the former champ was keen on courting Sydnee's desires to work with him earlier, he was beginning to feel her become more of a liability than an asset. Not to mention David had already been creating an on-island "family" with Parvati and Dickson (who even says, "Thanks, dad" upon David picking him as a partner).

"I feel like I need to pull that parachute and get the hell out of Sydneetown," David follows up in confessional.
As Sydnee joins up with the only other contestant without a partner–Rock Carlson–she expresses her dismay in her own talking head. She was fully confident in David picking her as his partner, and calls his move "cutthroat."
"Honestly, I would never stab somebody in the back, manipulate people like this," she says. "It's kind of one of my weaknesses. I could really be manipulated by charm. But I didn't come onto a dating show. I came onto Deal or No Deal Island to prove that I'm a badass."
