Viral TV blooper resurfaces as presenter appears on 'I'm A Celeb'

She hit headlines in 2017 when she was caught daydreaming during a live broadcast on ABC News 24.

And now the short clip of Natasha Exelby fiddling with a pen has gone viral again.

The journalist, who was pulled off-air after the footage did the rounds, is now back with a bang after she was revealed as one of the celebrities to have been catapulted into the jungle on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! last night.

Natasha, who has worked as a war correspondent in Afghanistan and Syria, can be seen in the video above looking down at her hands and playing with a pen, before realising that she’s live on air and looking up in shock.

The professional newsreader continued on like a pro, recovering well from the unfortunate blooper.

However, just days later News Corp revealed that Natasha had paid a “high price for her weekend blooper, after the humourless management at ABC24 banned the newsreader from playing any future on-air role”.

The ABC hit back at those claims, saying, “live television is a demanding art and slip-ups will happen – our presenters are humans, not robots”.

ABC’s director of news Gaven Morris said the station would never punish anyone for such a minor blooper and reports that Natasha was sacked were ‘untrue’.

“Natasha is a freelance journalist who works as a contributor. She has been rostered for various shifts and has been assured since yesterday that we want that to continue.

“While she is currently not doing any on-air shifts, this will be subject to normal performance management. I have spoken to Natasha and conveyed our regret that this has attracted such attention,” he continued in a statement.

Now Natasha is back in the spotlight on Channel 10’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, alongside stars such as former TheBiggest Loser host Ajay Rochester and presenter and former Home and Away actor Luke Jacobz.

She’s also joined by ‘gossip guru’ Richard Reid, former Love Island contestant Justin Lacko and former AFL player Dermott Brereton.
