TVLine Items: New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Lineup, Family Guy Returns to Adult Swim and More

ABC has set its NYE plans.

Rita Ora will return as co-host of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest, while the first announced musical guests include Cody Johnson, Lenny Kravitz, Thomas Rhett, Teddy Swims and Tinashe.

* Adult Swim will once again feature Family Guy in its primetime weekday lineup, with back-to-back library episodes airing every weekday from 10-11:30 pm ET/PT, beginning in 2025. To mark the show’s return to the network, Adult Swim will host a three-day marathon every evening from 7 pm to 5 am ET/PT, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 1.

* The Golden Globes (airing Jan. 5, 2025 on CBS) will present Ted Danson with the Carol Burnett Award, which is given to an honoree who has made outstanding contributions to television on or off screen. Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut will announce the nominees for the 82nd Annual Golden Globes on Monday, Dec. 9.

* Jason Clarke (Winning Time) will star as real-life convicted killer Alex Murdaugh in Hulu’s untitled Murdaugh Murders limited series, our sister site Deadline reports. He joins the previously cast Patricia Arquette as family matriarch Maggie.

* MASTERPIECE on PBS will air Seasons 1 and 2 of The Gold, the BAFTA-nominated BBC drama inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery that took place in London (release dates TBA). Season 1 previously streamed on Paramount+.

* BritBox has released a trailer for Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, a true crime drama starring Lucy Boynton (The Politician) as Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in Britain. Toby Jones, Laurie Davidson, Mark Stanley, Bessie Carter also star.

* Fox has released a preview for Extracted, a new survivalist competition series premiering Monday, Feb. 10 at 8/7c:
