Travis Kelce Is Reportedly "Heartbroken" Taylor Swift Was Booed at the Super Bowl

Just days after the Kansas City Chiefs lost the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, a source is opening up about Travis Kelce’s reaction to the defeat–as well as how the athlete felt about Taylor Swift being booed by the crowd. The “Cruel Summer” singer took up shop in a $3 million VIP suite surrounded by her squad and family members for the game, but she got a less-than-warm reception from the crowd when the cameras panned to her face. Eagles fans started booing, leading to a meme-worthy reaction from a confused Swift, who glanced over at her friend Ice Spice and mouthed “What’s going on?” before laughing off the reaction.

While the “Blank Space” singer didn’t appear to let negative fans get to her, Kelce reportedly felt “heartbroken” by the booing. An insider told The DailyMail that the tight end was “aware” of what happened and felt “helpless” about it.

“Seeing the look on her face got to him. He always protects her and it broke his heart,” they told the publication. “He was already having a tough night and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn't help. Travis knows that this hurt her and anyone can see this."

According to reports, Swift made a quick getaway in her private jet following the game, and she and a visibly sad Kelce both decided to skip the Chiefs after-party. The source also told The DailyMail that the couple were both in low spirits after the Chiefs’ dreams of clinching their second Lombardi trophy in a row were dashed, which comes just days after Swift was snubbed at the Grammys.

“After Taylor being shut out for a Grammy and Travis losing the biggest game of the year it just hasn't been a good week for them," the source added. However, it sounds like the couple might be leaning on each other through their tough week, as a source told Page Six that Swift is “comforting” her footballer boyfriend and recognizes how hard he “worked all season.”

"Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome,” they said, adding that the couple are  “looking forward to enjoying some downtime" together. The insider continued, “Taylor and Travis are going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future, and just relax.”
