Conservative Commentator Tomi Lahren Issues Surprising Statement About Taylor Swift

Tomi Lahren, who is well-known for her blunt, divisive takes, issued a surprisingly supportive statement about Taylor Swift after she was "booed" during the Super Bowl.

The conservative commentator took to X on Monday, Feb. 10, to defend the "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" singer, whom she called "wholesome and talented" despite their "different political opinions."

"I know I see this differently than a lot of my conservative friends," she began in a message to her followers, "but I didn’t like nor do I celebrate the booing of Taylor Swift."

"What did she do to any of y’all?" she continued, acknowledging that Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris for president wasn't her favorite move, but that it was "her right" to do so.

"Are we supposed to hate someone because they have different political opinions?" she asked boldly. "Overall, she is a wholesome and talented performer, who, by all accounts, is kind to her crew and a nice person."

"I don’t celebrate that kind of thing being booed just because she voted for someone that I didn’t," she concluded.

Not long after, she also shared a link to a satirical article about the Eras Tour artist canceling concerts in red-leaning states following Election Day, encouraging her followers to fact-check themselves before melting down online.

"some of y’all are only getting your information on social media and you’re letting it fuel bullshit outrage that’s not even real," she wrote. "Please don’t fall into that trap. Do a little bit of checking before you make claims."

Despite the sense embedded within her statements, Lahren faced backlash from her own fanbase for the comments, with one response suggesting it was "Time for [her] to head left!" and another stating, "Your fan girl worship is kinda gross. Grow up."

Others pointed to her past criticisms of the singer, like when she asked, "Is this what happens when you date Taylor Swift?" after Travis Kelce partnered with Pfizer.
