During the newest episode of the brothers' New Heights podcast, Travis came to Jason's defense while talking about the heated situation involving the retired Eagles player smashing a fan's phone to the ground for saying a homophobic slur toward Travis.

A video of the altercation went viral after Jason, 37, repeated the same slur back to the person. As a result, Jason took a moment during the beginning of the Wednesday, Nov. 5 podcast episode to address the situation and apologize.

While Jason shared his "regret" for repeating the offensive term and "perpetuating" more hate, Travis spoke up to come to his brother's defense.

"I know it's weighing on you, brother," Travis, 35, said in the new episode. "That s--t sucks."

"You shouldn't feel this much—obviously the scrutiny and the media view on it and everybody passing around the video out there—I think that's gonna make it a bigger situation than what it really is."

The Chiefs tight end went on to say, "The real situation is you had some f--king clown come up to you and talk about your family and you reacted in a way that was defending your family."

"You might have used some words that you regret using and that’s a situation that you just gotta kind of learn from and own," Travis said, adding, "I think you owning and you speaking about it shows how sincere you are to a lot of people in this world."

"You don't choose hate. That's just not who you are," the athlete continued, before telling his older bro, "I love you, brother. I think you said that perfectly."
