Brooke Shields and Her Lookalike Daughters Grier and Rowan Coordinated in Bikinis
Mother-daughter dressing takes the beach.
Brooke Shields’s daughters Rowan and Grier are already shaping up to be her mini-mes, sporting matching tattoos and even re-wearing the Blue Lagoon actress’s most iconic looks. And on December 30, Shields fittingly closed out the year on island time as she coordinated with her lookalike daughters in string bikinis during a beach getaway.
On Monday, the star prepared to ring in 2025 by vacationing in Nassau, Bahamas with Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, whom she shares with husband Chris Henchy. Shields stepped out for a beach day wearing a brown string bikini in a trendy mocha mousse shade paired with a straw hat, a jewel pendant necklace, and beach waves. Meanwhile, Rowan and Grier leaned into a mother-daughter dressing moment in complementary dark brown and teal bikinis paired with layered gold necklaces. Rowan–who wore her hair up in a low ponytail with face-framing pieces–added gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and white low-rise palazzo pants to her beach day look. Meanwhile, Grier stunned in a ditsy flowered cover-up and oversized cat eye sunglasses.
It was a sweet family moment after Shields became an empty nester this year. Grier, who headed to college at Wake Forest University this year, previously followed in her mom's sartorial footsteps by wearing her red 1998 Golden Globes gown to prom in 2022 and celebrating her high school graduation this summer in a version of Shields's 1997 wedding dress.
The Pretty Baby star previously opened up about how her daughters have influenced her style. "They don't like me in Upper East Side lady clothes. They like me much edgier," she told People during a 2023 interview. She also recalled a moment when an Off-White outfit got Grier’s rare stamp of approval.
"My younger daughter was so beyond. I think it's the only time she's ever just marveled [at] and been proud of me," Shields joked. She also shared that her daughters have encouraged her to try crop tops to be “much more rock and roll.”
"Total midriff. I don't even know what it constitutes, but they're always like, 'Mom, you should show your belly,'” she quipped.
