"It was a full weekend, Sybil celebrated her eighth birthday," Melvin began. "She had a big party, all of her friends ran around the house, ran through the backyard and destroyed everything."

He went on, "Then that was Saturday and this was the next day, Daddy fell asleep watching football on the couch and at some point they climbed up on top of me."

Melvin shared photos of Sibyl with her birthday cake and himself on the couch with his two kids, Sibyl and a son named Delano, joking that his wife, fellow TV anchor Lindsay Czarniak, "took the pictures just to mock me."

Czarniak also paid tribute to Sibyl on her Instagram, sharing photos of the family together amid recent activities and quality time. She wrote, "This is 8! It was a full day celebrating the girl that lights us up more than we could ever imagine Her kindness, creativity, honesty and fearlessness inspires me every day."

"This year, I also learned she is a top notch concert buddy, she cares deeply for her friends and family and headstands are often her choice of lounging style I'm so lucky to be her mom and love that I truly wish I could be more like Sibby when I grow up:)," she went on. "Happy Birthday sweet girl! We can't wait to see what this year brings."

Melvin and Czarniak's son Delano turned 10 back in March. The couple first met on a Washington D.C. TV station set in 2008, getting married in 2011.
