Tina Knowles admits holding her tongue online is hard: 'I'm a protector of my kids'
Tina Knowles is admitting she finds it hard to hold her tongue online.
"I'm a protector of my kids, and I just feel like that's my job," Knowles, mother to Beyoncé and grandmother to Blue Ivy, said on an episode of "The Run-Through with Vogue" podcast that dropped Monday.
After Beyoncé's boot-swinging "Cowboy Carter" performance on Christmas Day, Knowles quickly clapped back at critics online. Sharing a fan's observation that "no matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say," Knowles added her own two cents.

"It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don't think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later," Knowles wrote on Instagram.
She continued: "Obviously you are so obsessed with them, addicted to them, and secretly admire them, wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke!!"

Knowles copped to finding it difficult to keep quiet when people speak poorly about her family.
"My kids are always like, 'Mama, just ignore that.' But it gets to the point where I'm just like, 'I'm sorry. This is enough. It's enough,'" she said on the podcast.
Knowles also landed herself in hot water earlier this month when fans noticed she liked several posts relating to recent allegations against her son-in-law Jay-Z. The rapper was accused of raping a minor at a VMAs after-party in 2000. He has vehemently denied the allegations.
After the fact, Knowles claimed her Instagram account had been hacked, writing, "As you all know I do not play about my family. So if you see something uncharacteristic of me, just know that it is not me!"
Her family won't hold back either, she said in the podcast.
"Every once in a while, I'll get a call from Blue (Ivy), and she'll say, 'Grandma, that's really whack what you just did. That's really whack. You should delete that,'" Knowles admitted. "I'm like, 'Girl, I'm on to the next thing.' And all of the comments are like, 'There you go again, Miss Tina.'"
