The Voice: Ronan Keating rumoured to be eyeing Guy Sebastian's gig
An industry source has told Yahoo Lifestyle a former coach could be keen to make a return.
Guy Sebastian is currently the longest-standing judge on The Voice Australia, having sat in the big red chair as a coach since 2019. While it's hard to imagine the show without him now, an industry source has told Yahoo Lifestyle that an international star could have his eye on Guy's gig if Guy decided to leave the show after this season.
Ronan Keating is no stranger to Australian reality TV, having been a judge on The X-Factor for five seasons, before joining The Voice in 2015 as a mentor alongside Jessie J, Delta Goodrem and Joel and Benji Madden. Ronan was only on the show for one season, before being replaced by Kelly Rowland, but he was recently spotted in Sydney in late September with his wife and kids, sparking rumours that he could be making a return to Australian TV.
Is Ronan Keating returning to The Voice AU?
"Ronan has a lot of ties to Australia and there are now rumoured to be a few irons in the fire," our source said. "There was some interest a few years back from Channel Seven to try The Voice spin-off series The Voice Australia Kids but that idea was scrapped to do The Voice Generations. I think ITV Studios Australia is still keen to bring back the 'kids' format and Ronan would be great on that."
With rumours that Guy could depart the show, Ronan is said to be "waiting in the wings to see if Channel Seven are looking for a replacement".

Channel 7 slams shocking claims about Guy Sebastian's behaviour on The Voice: 'Rubbish'
After reports emerged last month that Guy Sebastian had been acting like a "total diva" on set of The Voice Australia, an industry source has told Yahoo Lifestyle that the allegations are blatantly false, saying Guy Sebastian is one of the longest-standing judges on The Voice due to his hard-working nature and being the "opposite" of a diva.
An insider allegedly told Daily Mail Australia that the crew noticed Guy had become "more demanding" on set of The Voice this year, with the article insinuating that after six years on the show, the job's novelty "might be starting to wear a little thin".
"The claims made by unnamed sources in the Daily Mail in relation to Guy Sebastian and The Voice are complete rubbish," Channel Seven told Yahoo Lifestyle, with an industry insider also vehemently denying the claims of Guy's diva antics, saying the singer and coach is "widely respected".
