The Voice fans make shocking discovery about popular contestant
There’s a reason why Skÿe may look familiar to some viewers.
He’s a fan favourite on this year’s season of The Voice, but viewers have been shocked to discover that this isn’t the first time Skÿe has competed in the TV singing competition. The 26-year-old singer, who received a four-chair turn performing Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ in his Blind Audition and recently advanced to the Knockouts, first appeared on the reality show back in 2015 under his birth name Nicolas Duquemin.
Skÿe auditioned with the song ‘XO’ by Beyoncé and managed to turn two of the coaches' chairs, Delta Goodrem and Joel and Benji Madden, before deciding to join Delta’s team. The then-17-year-old received a Fast Pass to skip the Super Battle Round but was eliminated in the first Live Show when he sang ‘King’ by Years & Years.
Interestingly, Skÿe's elimination episode featured a special guest performance from Adam Lambert, who joined the series this year as a coach.

As Skÿe progresses further in the competition this time around, fans have taken to social media to point out his appearance in season four.
“Am I tripping OR aren't these two the same person? Nicolas Duquemin from Team Delta in Season 4 and Skÿe from Team Guy?” one person posted on X alongside a side-by-side of his two appearances on the show.
“He originally competed on season four,” someone else shared, while another said, “Only just noticed you were on The Voice in 2015”.
“Omg you were amazing, I remember you from The Voice 2015, so proud of you,” a different user commented on Skÿe's post, followed by a fan who asked, “How come you didn’t talk about being on The Voice back in 2015?”
Fans predict Skÿe will win the competition
Unlike his experience in 2015, all four of this year’s coaches fought to have Skÿe on their team following his Blind Audition. Kate Miller-Heidke described his voice as “transcendent”, “angelic” and “freakishly beautiful”, while Adam Lambert said that he was “blown away” by his vocal abilities.
Guy Sebastian, who Skÿe ended up choosing to go with, also remarked that he was a “coach’s dream”.
“Technically you’re brilliant, vocally it was stunning and you’ve got this real humility and groundedness about you,” he shared. “But your true superpower is the fact that you’re unique. It just gives you room to be Skÿe and be unapologetic about it and just do you and explore where that will go with no boundaries.”

Viewers have fallen in love with Skÿe all over again this season and have determined that he will win the entire competition thanks to his “beautiful”, “phenomenal” and “magnificent” voice. The Melbourne-based performer, who released his debut EP all the things I never said in February this year, has also received support from two previous winners.
“My gosh made me cry! So so heartfelt!” last year’s winner Tarryn Stokes commented on his audition video, while 2021 champion Bella Taylor Smith wrote, “WOOOOOHOOOOO”.
Married At First Sight breakout star Lucinda Light has also admitted to being a fan of Skÿe, commenting on his post: “You’re insanely talented. One of my fav voices ever and I’ll watch you until the end of time and until the earth stops spinning.”
