Delta Goodrem's secret past with The Voice contestant
This year’s The Voice has already been packed to the brim with both headline-grabbing drama and cheating scandals.
Now it’s been revealed that one of the contestants on Delta Goodrem’s team has a shared history with the ARIA Award winner – she was one of her backing singers.
Natasha Stuart, who has already gained a reputation for her soulful pipes, make the admission while discussing her cancer battle – something Delta also had to endure.
But the pair actually more in common that a shared medical past, and had in fact performed together many times during the 2000s.
“I sang backing vocals for her when she was probably a year or two out of treatment,” Natasha told New Idea.
“She had finished her journey when I was with her and now, I’m going through this and she’s with me so it’s a nice full circle many years later.”
But while Natasha has also lent her pipes to both Boy George and Guy Sebastian as a backing singer, her connection with Delta could raise eyebrows due to the pair now being partnered as coach and contestant.
"Everything that Delta said to me just connected so deeply to where I'm at now and what I'm going through, and what I know she's gone through," she told the publication. "In that moment it just felt like she was a kindred spirit and I had to go with her."
However, since joining Team Delta, Natasha’s vocals have well and truly held their own, with the famous coach even joining her on the piano during the knockout rounds.
