He’s been the talk of the town since he floored the judges and audiences with his powerful rendition of Adele’s ‘Hello’ in the blind auditions, but Jack Vidgen’s The Voice journey is now over.

Performing Calum Scott’s ‘You Are the Reason may have been a crowd pleaser, but wasn’t enough to get the 22-year-old over the line, though his message to fans is anything but defeated.

“So grateful. My heart is full,” he wrote in an Instagram caption following the shock elimination.

The powerful performer has made headlines since returning to screens, thanks to his dramatic transformation from the fresh faced pre-teen who won Australia’s Got Talent.

Part of Team Guy, Jack was a favourite for the win, but though voters got him into the top nine, his popularity couldn’t pull him through to the grand final.

Following the performance, Jack kept things upbeat and future-facing.

“It's honestly changed my life and I'm never going to stop singing ever again,” he told the coaches after his elimination, following up the statement with a cryptic sign off on Instagram in his final post about the show.

“See you all v soon (sic),” he wrote.

No more Team Guy

The former Australia’s Got Talent winner was one of five contestants cut in the brutal semi-finals along with other TV comeback stories like former Australian Idol contestant Lee Harding and The Voice ‘All Star’ Sheldon Riley.

Jack’s elimination was also one of three for coach Guy Sebastian, who no longer has a contestant in the running.

Mitch Paulsen and Chynna Taylor were two other constants from the form Idol winner’s team to get the boot on a night that saw five of nine remaining contestants cut.

Guy has copped his fair share of criticism this season with fans accusing the singer of blatant favouritism on a number of occasions.

Going through to the grand final are Delta Goodrem’s Daniel Shaw and Jordan Anthony, Boy George’s Diana Rouvas and Kelly Rowland’s Zeek Power.
