It's an exciting day when you find a cult beauty product that's under $10 and available at your local chemist.

If you're not familiar with it yet, let MAFS' Martha Kalifatidis introduce you to her must-have hair product that is in fact under $10 and available at the chemist.

Taking to Instagram, the reality TV star shared the cult product to her 631,000 followers recommending people to snap it up while they still could.

"Ok, this is a public service announcement to all my peeps with thick, unruly and frizzy hair," she wrote in her stories.

"This hair oil is the best. It even knocks out humidity (perfect during La Nina)!"

So what is it?

While it's not necessarily new, L'Oreal Paris' Elvive Extraordinary Oil Treatment is the must-have hair oil that Martha swears by and is currently on sale at Chemist Warehouse.

Now available for $6 in-store, the 30ml hair oil is a "rich, light and non-greasy formula that repairs, restores and enhances dry hair" and is dubbed as a vital product to protect hair from styling damage.

It has won a slew of awards including being named as the winner for the 2014 Beautyheaven Top 100 Beauty Products of All Time.

Ok, tell me more.

The transparent formula uses a unique oil technology that deeply penetrates the hair fibre to strengthen from the inside, while six precious flower oils smooth and protect the hair's surface.

The treatment is to designed to work with all hair types and not leave any residue or heaviness, making it a versatile hair oil that proves to be rare in the beauty market.

You can use it before styling to prevent heat damage or afterward for a stronger shine. If you just want to give your hair a healthy boost, L'Oreal recommends applying the product before washing to get a nourishing treatment.

Sell-out status

While followers were excited to hear of the viral product, a Chemist Warehouse worker was quick to point out that the sale could be in preparation to clear from stock altogether.

"I work at Chemist Warehouse and when it says clearance, it means the product is actually being discontinued within Chemist Warehouse or the brand itself!" she wrote to Martha.

"So I suggest stocking up on this as much as you can as it means it won't be coming back."

Ok, but does it really work?

Aside from Martha's personal recommendation, there are over 250 high reviews on the Chemist Warehouse website with users gushing about the treatment.

"Best hair oil/serum I've ever used," one wrote.

"You can apply it to dry hair, wet hair, styled hair, yet to be styled hair and it makes your hair so smooth, silky and shiny.

"I'm going to restock on it forever. It's that good!"

A second buyer has also written a rave review on the product, saying, "[This is] the only hair serum I’ve found that doesn’t leave hair oily and leave residue, it’s an absolute miracle oil.

"I don’t quite know how it works but leaves hair silky and smooth!

"It makes split ends seem to disappear!"

You can snap up the cult hair oil for $6 in-store at Chemist Warehouse while stock lasts or purchase the 100ml bottle from their website for $17.99.
