The TV star, who made the shock announcement last month that she and her family would be embarking on a trip abroad for a few months, has been applauded by fans for her recent ‘Insta vs reality’ social media post.
Carrie took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a gallery of photos of herself in a pool while on holiday in Europe, wearing a leopard-print swimsuit, sunglasses and gold jewellery.
In the first snap, she is posing glamorously on the edge of the water with the ocean and bright blue sky behind her.
The second photo, however, is much more candid with Carrie smiling as she awkwardly tries to step up onto the edge of the pool.
Carrie’s followers quickly took to the comments to applaud her hilarious post and openness online.
“Love your honesty!” one follower wrote, followed by her Project co-host Kate Langbroek who said, “Both are v appealing from my pov!”
“Thank you for your honesty. You are a beautiful human,” another added, while someone else remarked, “You look gorgeous in both”.
“Reality is you are a babe in any setting!” a different user shared.
Carrie’s post comes shortly after she uploaded a sweet montage of photos from her adventures in Europe so far, including snaps of her children skiing and enjoying the snow.
“Heart full,” she captioned the video. “Switzerland/Austria you have blown my mind. Simply stunning.”
She also shared a group photo of her family at Melbourne airport on Instagram earlier this week updating her followers on what she’s been doing.
“Can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to over the past few weeks travelling,” she wrote. “We’ve packed it in. [France, Switzerland, Austria] (perhaps too many stops for our little people!) and we’ve seen the most incredible places.
“Settling in to the UK now #britmorefamilyadventure or the Chriswolds’s family adventure as Chris calls it.”
'Seize the moment'
Carrie first announced on The Project last month that she and her husband Chris and three kids Oliver, 14, Evie, 7, and Adelaide, 3, were “heading off on a family adventure together”.
“We’ve been wanting to do it for a while but lots of reasons, timing hasn’t been right, but we figure it’s never going to be the perfect time to go and it’s something we really want to do before my son starts his final years at school so we’re doing term two in the UK,” she said live on-air.
“One of the things that my son Ollie said was how much he was going to miss the family time when we were coming out of lockdown, which kind of surprised us because we had a lot of family time!”
“But we thought, gosh, he still wants to spend time with us and while he does he only has a few years left and then he will fly away so we thought we would seize the moment and do it.”
Chrissie Swan and Georgie Tunny have since taken up Carrie’s seat on The Project desk while she’s been away.
