The Chase's Governess shows off transformation during TV appearance

Anne Hegerty looked noticeably different while chatting with The Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

She’s been a familiar face on Australian TV for the past decade, but The Chase star Anne Hegerty surprised fans on Tuesday morning when she showed off a brand new look on The Morning Show.

The 64-year-old, who is known as ‘The Governess’ on both the UK and Australian versions of the popular quiz show, appeared on the Channel Seven programme with a very different hairstyle and outfit.

While she’s known for having her mousy brown hair swept into an old-fashioned quiff, Anne instead styled her short hair in loose curls.

She also swapped her signature grey suit with a white blouse and black belt for a fashionable bright blue shirt and black pants and accessorised with large gold dangly earrings and bright lipstick.

Speaking with hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on Tuesday morning, Anne said she was loving her new look.

“I think my hair looks good at the moment,” she remarked. “Normally it doesn’t look this good because I haven’t got a nice make-up lady doing it.”

The UK star is celebrating her fourteenth year on The Chase UK this year and is currently in Australia to film new episodes of the local version with Larry.

Anne’s visit Down Under coincides with her Chase co-star Issa Schultz's appearance on the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars.

While Anne told Larry and Kyle she thought Issa is doing “fantastically” and is excited to see him continue in the competition, she said she would never appear on the reality show herself.

“I turned down what we call Strictly Come Dancing last year,” she revealed. “I can’t dance, I can’t remember difficult dance routines, I can’t watch a dance and kind of translate it into what my body ought to be doing.

“I got offered so much money last year but I still really didn’t want to do it.”
