The Block fans divided over 'nasty' toilet decision: 'Absolutely insane'
Maddy and Charlotte baffled the judges with their toilet placement in the laundry.
They may have won last week’s room reveal, but The Block’s Maddy and Charlotte landed at the bottom of the leaderboard during Sunday night’s episode. The sisters presented both an unfinished guest bedroom and laundry and copped criticism from the judges for a particularly “nasty” detail in their space.
While the trio of experts praised the fact that Maddy and Charlotte had included a toilet in their laundry, they were baffled by their decision to install a glass door right next to it. Shaynna Blaze pointed out that they should’ve installed a frosted glass door instead, especially because the space outside is intended to be a sitting area with a fireplace.
“That’s nasty,” Shaynna remarked, while Darren Palmer added, “It feels not very private, and I don’t know about you, but I like privacy”.

Interior design expert and director of TLC Interiors Chris Carroll tells Yahoo Lifestyle that the transparent glass door by the toilet was “an obvious blunder” by Maddy and Charlotte - but something that can easily be fixed.
“Nobody wants a viewing party while they're using the bathroom,” he shares. “The Roman blind they applied to the door isn't enough to save it - it's too much work to put up and down all the time.
“Frosted glass is needed here and thankfully it's not too hard a fix.”
Fans divided over 'strange' detail
Viewers were just as confused by the “strange” placement of the laundry toilet looking directly out to the backyard, with one person saying it was a “horrible” decision.
“The toilet without any privacy in the laundry was definitely a strange thing to miss,” one person wrote, while another added, “Absolutely insane toilet placement. Might as well be in the kitchen”.
“This is an odd laundry. Sacrificing storage for a toilet and having the toilet right next to a glass door?” a third remarked, followed by someone else who joked, “Assert your dominance while you pee and stare at everyone outside. Power move”.
Others also pointed out that House 1 already has three toilets and doesn’t necessarily need any additional one in the laundry. However, many said they “don’t hate the toilet idea” and it’s “so handy to have an extra one” in the house.
“Honestly, I don’t care where toilets are placed, as long as I can reach it easily,” a fan commented, with another adding, “It’s pretty good for the pool. You can come in to go to the toilet without traipsing water through the house”.
