The Block: Channel 10 comedian brutally roasts the show with hilarious dig

Fans said they '100% agree' with the savage comment.

It’s one of the most popular reality TV shows in Australia, but not everyone is a fan of The Block.

Monday night’s episode of the Channel 10 comedy quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? saw some of the country’s most beloved comedians brutally roast the renovation series.

Host Tom Gleisner received some hilarious answers when he asked contestants Ed Kavalee, Anne Edmonds, Kitty Flanagan, Celia Pacquola and Sam Pang about The Block’s upcoming twentieth season.

The Block have announced the location for next year’s season, where will it be?” he asked.

Thank God You're Here host Celia Pacquola was quick to buzz in and say, “Oh the location of The Block, it is just outside my interest.”

“Fair enough,” Tom replied while the audience applauded Celia’s answer.

Sam Pang then guessed season 20 would be filmed on Christmas Island, while Anne Edmonds eventually said the correct answer of Phillip Island.

After a clip of the moment was shared on social media, viewers took to the comments to say they “100% agree” with Celia.

“Biggest hardest laugh at this response when we watched it,” one fan replied, while another said, “One of the funniest answers all year!”.

“Best one-liner answer from this series!!” a third agreed, followed by someone else who wrote, “She delivered that line so well”.

“Loved this comment. My sentiments exactly,” another fan responded.

The Block 2024

The Block’s executive producer Julian Cress announced last week that the show’s milestone twentieth season will be filmed on Phillip Island, which is located 90 minutes south of Melbourne.

The island, which is well known for its colony of little penguins, is a popular tourist destination visited by 3.5 million people annually and has a permanent population of around 14,000.

The show was originally set to take place in the country Victorian town of Daylesford but was forced to relocate in September due to permit issues and complaints from locals.

Channel Nine recently confirmed at their annual Upfront event that Scott Cam will be returning to host the show, while Neale Whitaker announced on Instagram in July that he will be back as a full-time judge for season 20.

Casting is currently underway for the new season, however, there is potential for the new season to feature the return of some past contestants.

An insider tells Yahoo Lifestyle: “There is still some chatter about bringing back some celebrated contestants for the 20th season but applications are still open for newbies. So the rumour is it will be half newbies and half returnees.”
