Kesha Mourns Profound Family Loss: 'You Really Broke My Heart'
Kesha is saying goodbye to a beloved member of her family.
This week, the "Praying" songstress took to social media to announce the death of her cat, Carl.
"Carl my little chicken," she wrote in an Instagram post on Friday, Jan. 24, while sharing a collection of sweet photos and videos of her beloved pet.
The sweet snaps included an array of moments from throughout Carl's life, including a shot of him being held in Kesha's arms while the singer appeared to not have any clothes on.
More photos included a video of the fluffy white cat when he was a kitten, as well as one shot of Carl in front of a Ouija board, one of him sitting inside a Versace bag and multiple pictures of him cozying up to his mom.
"You really broke my heart this time," she continued in her caption, writing, "I'll see you in the next life my baby boy."
"God really outdid himself with this creature. 💔," Kesha, 37, added in the emotional post, which concluded with a black and white photo of her planting a kiss on Carl's head.
In the comments, the received an outpouring of support from friends and celebrities alike, including fellow singer and friend Demi Lovato, who wrote, "I’m so sorry 💔 😢" under Friday's post.
One of her fans chimed in to say, "I’m so, so sorry, Kesha😭 he was so lucky to have you as his person ❤️," while another wrote, "rest easy Carl, the sweetest baby🫶🏼."
Kesha—who is currently traveling in Australia—later added a comment on her own post, writing to her supporters, "Thank you for these comments. I’m laying in my hotel room crying from all the kindness."
