Taylor Swift Is Obsessed With These Three Must-Try Fragrances
At this point, it’s Taylor Swift’s world, and we’re all just living in it. Ever since the 34-year-old singer launched her record-breaking Eras Tour in March of 2023, women everywhere have been dropping serious cash for concert tickets, yes, but also any and all things that make them feel one degree closer to Swift herself. By now, we know Swift’s go-to for her signature red lip (hello, Pat McGrath!), one of her must-haves for her classic black cat eye (we see you, Tom Ford!), and that she’s a sucker for a mini shirt dress (we’re still dreaming of her collared rugby number from last fall). We know these details because she’s revealed them herself or someone close to her, like her makeup artist, has. Something that’s largely been kept hush-hush, though? The aura of Taylor’s eras. We’re talking about her signature scent, of course! While rumors have swirled over the years, Tay hasn’t openly discussed her fragrance of choice—until recently, that is. Keep reading to learn how to smell like Miss Americana herself.
But First: A Fun Fact
We know, we know: You’re eager to smell like Taylor. (Aren’t we all?) We couldn’t help but entertain you with a touch of Tay trivia first, though. While we’re all well aware of what a wildly successful entrepreneur Miss Swift is, did you know that she dabbled in perfume at one point, too? In the early 2010s, Taylor teamed up with Elizabeth Arden to release five fragrances, the first of which, Wonderstruck, made the most lasting impression. The fruity fragrance was discontinued in 2014, but if you’re really eager, you can still snag a bottle on eBay. (Though keep in mind, the scent might not smell quite right, as perfume ingredients can oxidize, altering the fragrance profile in the process.)
Now, what you’ve all been waiting for: Taylor Swift’s fragrance rotation.
Tom Ford Santal Blush
It’s long been rumored that Taylor is a loyal fan of Tom Ford scents. Murmurings of this only grew when Tom Ford’s Santal Blush appeared in the background of a scene from Miss Americana, the 2020 Netflix documentary that shed a whole new light on Swift and her life.
Tom Ford Santal Blush Eau de Parfum Fragrance ($195) is a luxury unisex perfume featuring a sensual blend of Australian sandalwood, cinnamon bark oil, and Ylang-Ylang for a warm, woody scent with subtle musky, powdery hints at the base.
While the evidence was in plain sight, fans still hoped for a word-of-mouth recommendation from Swift herself. That day finally came at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. In a TikTok posted on the official Ru Paul’s Drag Race account, Taylor can be seen posing with ‘Ru Paul's Drag Race’ stars. After a few photos are snapped, Muse can be seen complimenting Taylor on her scent. When asking her what it is, Taylor mime spritzes herself and replies, “Oh, thank you, it’s Tom Ford.”
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Santal Blush isn’t the only Tom Ford scent that Taylor adores. Supposedly, Swift is a fan of the sweeter, smokier Tobacco Vanille Eau de Parfum Fragrance ($195), too. At least, that’s what Redditors are in conversation about. Considering Taylor is known to be a Tom Ford loyalist, we don’t doubt that she has more than a single scent pick from the brand.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is another warm and spicy unisex scent. It combines notes of tobacco leaf, vanilla, creamy tonka bean, cocoa, dry fruit accords, and sweet wood sap, giving it a heady spice that smells downright addicting.
Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb
Earlier in her career, Tay was rumored to be a big fan of Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb ($180). Unlike Santal Blush and Tobacco Vanille, Flowerbomb is a floral fragrance with notes of cattleya, jasmine, and rose layered with patchouli and vanilla. While it’s hard to find direct footage or quotes depicting this fragrance choice, it seems fitting that Taylor would start her career off on a fragrant floral note, only to lean deeper into the dramatic earthy spice tones post-Reputation.
