Kate Middleton is a multi-talented woman—just look at her eye for fashion, personable appearances, and passion for photography. So, it's not surprising at all that the royal has another hidden skill that she practices at home. What is unexpected, however, is how much better she is at it than her husband Prince William—even though it's a skill he should have inherited from his father King Charles.

According to the Mirror, William once admitted that his wife tends to all the plants and greenery at their home, which they share with their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. "My wife does all the gardening," he admitted. "I really like it, but I have no idea what I'm doing."

Middleton even worked with the Royal Horticultural Society to debut the "Back to Nature" garden in 2019 at the Chelsea Flower Show, which included elements inspired by her childhood, like a treehouse and a swing, per the Mirror. Middleton even honored her late mother-in-law Princess Diana by incorporating her favorite flowers, forget-me-nots.

Prince William's lack of green thumb comes as a shock since his father, King Charles, is a skilled gardener himself. The king is the patron of the National Garden Scheme and transformed the Highgrove House property into a bucolic setting back in 1980. He and Queen Camilla even get competitive with their gardening. "My husband is an excellent gardener and we're quite competitive about our fruit and vegetables," she said, per The Mirror. "I love the vegetable garden—and summer, in particular. I'm very proud of my white peaches."
