Talk Show Host Graham Norton Makes a Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift

As an award-winning talk show host who's interviewed hundreds of stars over the course of 31 seasons, Graham Norton knows a thing or two about celebrities—including Taylor Swift, who's been a guest on the Graham Norton Show four times.

On a recent episode of the Kylie and Jackie O radio show in Australia, Norton shared his unfiltered opinion on the "Fortnight" songstress, as Us Weekly reported, and it seems the comedian is a Swiftie at heart.

“Someone like Taylor Swift, who is arguably the most famous woman in the world—I don’t know if it’s an act, but she appears to be so close to normal,” Norton said. “It’s weird. It’s like you can change the economy of a country just by showing up. How can you be this normal? And yet she’s so lovely and normal and just fantastic.”

“I remember saying to her, you know, because she’s going on a big, long tour. And I said to her, ‘Are you worried about keeping your voice?’ And she went: ‘No, I write songs that are easy to sing,’” he continued. “She always has been super sweet. Like, she went from that gangly giraffe teenager country girl into a megastar, but has been the same from the beginning to the end. I love her. She literally decided ‘I will write easy to sing songs. And therefore, I need never worry about my voice because I’ll be fine.’ And also, now all the fans sing all of them.”

The "Bad Blood" singer's "normal" side was on full display during a 2019 appearance on Norton's show when opened up about crashing her car during an interview for a Rolling Stone cover story.

“So when Rolling Stone does a cover story, it’s like they hang out, you know. You hang out with this journalist for a couple days,” Swift explained. “If you drive around, they’re sitting there. If you go to lunch, we hang. It’s, like, a thing and it was a huge deal for me to have a cover of Rolling Stone. It still is, like, for me, that’s like, ‘Ohhh.’ Like, it’s a big angel singing moment, so of course, I was just like, ‘Be your best self today’ like, ‘If you’re going to drive, you drive the best you’ve driven.'”

Unfortunately, Swift ended up getting in two accidents while driving with the journalist.

“One was my fault, one was not. One was an ‘I’m sorry,’ the second was a ‘You’re welcome, I saved your life,'" Swift said.

“We got sideswiped, but I was like—I was fully panicking, and when we got sideswiped, I think he screamed out something like, ‘I have a new baby at home!’ And I was like, this is not gonna be a good cover story for me," she added.
