So who will attempt to outwit, outplay and outlast the rest? CBS has revealed its new cast for Survivor 47, which premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8/7c with a two-hour premiere. (The series will shift to 90-minute episodes beginning Sept. 25.) Included in the mix is “Pod Save America” co-host and former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett who will certainly be faced with another kind of politics once he hits the sand in Fiji. Joining him are a flight school owner, an ER doctor, a former Miss Delaware and an AI research assistant — all of whom claim to be fans of the game and worthy of dominating their competition.
Lovett isn’t the only new castaway who dabbles in podcasting. Aysha Welch is known in the Survivor community for her work on show alum Rob Cesternino’s “Rob Has a Podcast,” where she covers Big Brother, Claim to Fame, Love Is Blind, Survivor and more. (Cesternino, meanwhile, made the cut on our Survivor 50 Dream Cast list.)
Once again, the new participants will be divided into three tribes of six, facing another twist-packed season from the moment they step on the beach. “The moral dilemmas and extreme situations will test even the strongest competitor, and the mental and physical challenges require players to constantly fine-tune their strategies to survive another day,” reads the official description.
