Surprise reason for Harry's coronation decision: 'Instantly iconic'
Prince Harry will attend the coronation solo, leaving Meghan and his two children at home in California.
Prince Harry finally revealed his decision to attend his father King Charles' coronation at Westminster Abbey last week, with Buckingham Palace announcing the Duke of Sussex would be attending the May 6 event solo, while his wife Meghan Markle and their two children will stay home in California.
While royal fans breathed a sigh of relief to hear Harry would be attending, an insider has revealed a surprising reason for the decision.
According to The Mail on Sunday, a Netflix source has revealed Harry's attendance could be more of a business decision.
"Harry is going back for all the right reasons but there was a palpable sigh of relief among those of us involved in the business because Brand Sussex relies on Harry being seen with his family," the Netflix source shared. "At the end of the day it is all about proximity to the King."

King Charles 'very disappointed' by Harry and Meghan's move: 'It's sad'
They continued, "The images from the Coronation will be instantly iconic. Harry will be in those photographs and, from a business perspective, you can’t put a price on that."
A senior executive at Walt Disney Studios shared that the coronation has come at an important time, because Harry and Meghan are at "a turning point".
"They’ve done the Netflix series and Harry’s done his book. You could argue the bloom is starting to fade from the rose," they said. "What is their currency? Their main selling point is the link to the royal family. Harry has to be there [at the coronation]."
They added, "In America, this is all part of the narrative. Harry has to go back and he’s either embraced, which is wonderful, or he’s not – which will keep the narrative going. The story has to keep evolving because that is what builds the brand and brings the offers in. The danger Harry and Meghan face is becoming irrelevant."
Charles 'very disappointed' by Harry and Meghan's move
It comes following reports Charles is "very disappointed" only Harry will attend, meaning the King won't see Meghan or his grandchildren Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.
"It’s sad but the King understands the situation," the insider told the publication. "The King is happy that Harry, his son, who he calls his 'darling boy' will be at the Abbey.
"He wanted him there. It is sad, he is very disappointed that he won’t see Meghan or his grandchildren but he understands the situation."
It is understood that Archie and Lilibet were considered too young to attend their grandfather’s coronation, so Meghan is staying in Montecito with them.
Real reason behind Meghan’s absence
This comes after royal commentator and author Omid Scobie shared his views about the decision made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

He hinted that Archie’s fourth birthday lands on May 6, and this is possibly the driving force behind the royal couple’s choice.
"I understand that Archie’s fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple’s decision," he tweeted. "Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey."
