King Charles' coronation: Prince Harry's secret phone call revealed
The father and son reconnected before Harry accepted the invitation.
Prince Harry reportedly had a secret phone call with King Charles before making the decision to attend his coronation. The Duke of Sussex has been plagued by rumours surrounding his uneasy relationship with the royals since his explosive memoir Spare was released.
However, according to The Sun, Harry and Charles put aside their differences to discuss the coronation, with a “willingness and wanting to mend on both sides”.
On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their coronation plans through a Buckingham Palace statement. While Harry will be attending the Westminster Abbey ceremony, his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Lilibet and Archie, will not be in attendance.
All eyes will be on Harry during the event, with the publication claiming that Prince William has refused to talk to his brother for months.

It is understood that the royal will not be taking part in any formal proceedings during the celebration, and his children are considered too young to attend the event.
A royal insider says that Harry wanted to “support” King Charles by attending, but the monarch is said to be “very disappointed” that Meghan and his grandchildren will not be coming.
Real reason behind Meghan’s absence
This comes after royal commentator and author Omid Scobie shared his views about the decision made by Harry and Meghan.
He hinted that Archie’s fourth birthday lands on May 6, and this is possibly the driving force behind the royal couple’s choice.
“I understand that Archie’s fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple’s decision,” he tweeted. “Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.”

Royal fans praised the family’s decision on Twitter, with many saying that it seemed to be the smartest option.
“Again, [Harry] showing a lot of diplomatic skills and maturity here because this is the best possible outcome,” one person pointed out.
“I’m so happy our good sister is staying home with her children, and also happy that Harry is going to support his father,” another added.
“I’m sure Harry and Meghan weighed all their options and made the best decision for their family. Hopefully Harry’s coronation attendance is as safe and stress free for him as possible,” a third remarked.
