“Our characters are at their wits’ end,” Jai Jamison, who wrote and directed last week’s penultimate episode, tells TVLine. “They’re at their breaking point. Superman is trying his best to hold his own against Doomsday, but Lex still hasn’t played his final card. Dealing with this monster is going to take everyone coming together to make it through.”
The finale picks up where Episode 9 left off, with Superman locked in a losing battle against a super-charged Doomsday while his family watched helplessly from the sidelines. Will Jonathan (Alex Garfin) and Jordan (Michael Bishop) step in to save their dad? The episode’s official logline certainly implies that this battle will become a family affair: “The Kents fight with everything they have as Luthor makes his final move on Smallville.”
(We’ll post our full breakdown of the finale with Superman & Lois‘ co-showrunners after it airs, so be sure to come back later.)
