Sunrise's Sam Mac unveils DIY backyard transformation: 'Incredible'

Sunrise star Sam Mac has wowed his followers on social media after he showed off the results of his impressive DIY backyard transformation.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the beloved TV weatherman shared a video highlighting each step of the landscaping process alongside his hilarious commentary.

The video opens with a shot of Sam’s long backyard littered with bricks, wall plastering, rubbish and even a toilet sitting right in the middle.

“Our backyard was a disgrace, so we fired this guy, the worst tradie in Sydney,” he says, taking a jab at his friend and Nova host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald.

Sam then recruits his girlfriend Rebecca James’ father Phil, who brought an impressive collection of tools in comparison to Sam’s small IKEA tool kit, and the pair head to Bunnings.

“After 37 trips to Bunnings we got everything we need, so I start to make superfluous noise,” he continues. “It’s my age-old strategy for seeming more productive than I actually am. Never fails!”

The Dancing With The Stars contestant then unveils the finished result, showing a perfectly manicured lawn, a tiled entertaining section and plenty of potted plants.

“Our backyard was now a Mac-yard,” he remarks. “Lush lawns, a plethora of plants, and flowers that were actually alive - at time of filming.

“The champagne was cold and the barbie was sizzling, We were finally ready to entertain!” he adds before Rebecca walks out holding their daughter Margot in her arms.

“Woah hang on, Margot’s asleep. Cancel the guests!” he jokes.

'Incredible'

Sam’s followers quickly took to the comments on his post to applaud his work, with one person calling it “magnificent”.

“Ripper job!” another added, while a third said, “Damn that’s Macjestical”.

“A huge transformation,” someone else remarked, followed by others who said the backyard looked “incredible”, “fantastic” and “amazing”.

A fan also complimented his voiceover, writing: “Your newsreader voice will never get old… Even when you get old, it will never get old.”
