Sunrise's Kochie reveals harsh truth behind UK trip: 'Not glamorous'

Sunrise host David 'Kochie' Koch has revealed the brutal reality of reporting on the Queen's death in the UK.

Sharing a number of photos on his Instagram Stories, Kochie showed viewers just how exhausting the late nights and gruelling hours were, both for presenters and crew.

"An extraordinary 12 days ... A highlight of my career. And these legends made it all possible," he captioned a photo of the crew.

"But life on the road is NOT as glamorous as you may think."

He then shared a photo of a Channel 7 cameraman asleep on a number of lined-up Eskys, before posting another of a Sunrise crew member asleep on the ground with a jacket over their head.

"Sleep when you can," Kochie wrote.

In another photo of his co-host Nat Barr stretching her head back, Kochie captioned the image: "The best co-host ... smart, witty, normal."

"Sitting on stools for so long stuffed Nat's back and neck and this was an exercise from the osteo."

Sunrise's royal editor Rob Jobson is seen sleeping in a chair in a media tent in another snap, with Kochie commeding his hard work following the Queen's death as he wrote newspaper front pages while also offering royal commentary on the Sunrise program.

"Rob Jobson's schedule was unbelievable ... an absolute professional," Kochie said.

Another hilarious photo showed Nat pulling out her hair extensions at 2am, while another behind-the-scenes shot showed the two Sunrise hosts getting a massage in their media tent.

Posting one last photo of Nat, Kochie wrote: "Couldn't have done it without her."

Kochie's subtle dig at Karl Stefanovic

In another behind-the-scenes look at Aussie TV presenters reporting from London, Kochie shared a photo of his TV rival Today host Karl Stefanovic while taking a cheeky dig at him.

Posting on his Instagram Stories, Kochie shared photos of the crowd watching the Queen's procession.

He then posted a photo of Karl behind a fence looking at Kochie, with his hands wrapped around the bars.

"Gotta keep the rif-raf out," Kochie captioned the image as he tagged Karl.

The Today host clearly appreciated the jab, sharing the snap on his own Instagram Stories.
