Sunrise's Nat Barr, 53, on cosmetic procedures: 'I haven't had Botox'

Sunrise host Natalie Barr has opened up about cosmetic procedures, saying she prefers the natural look.

Speaking to Woman’s Day, the 53-year-old, who hosts the morning show alongside David Koch, said: "I haven't had Botox – though no judgement if you do.

"I'm just glad the viewer doesn't expect us all to be 23."

Nat, who is known for her incredible style since taking over the hosting gig from Samantha Armytage, says she “gets to be a different version” of herself by dressing up in colour and designer clothes on the show.

It comes after Nat opened up about landing the biggest job of her life at the age of 53, saying it’s proof age doesn’t matter when it comes to chasing your dreams.

The same week Nat took over from Samantha Armytage and started hosting Sunrise alongside Kochie, she celebrated her 53rd birthday, with the show surprising the host with a cake.

“People have mentioned to me in previous years, that [as a woman in television] you’re put out to pasture. You have an expiry date. But I’ve just got the biggest job of my life the week I’ve turned 53. So I guess that’s not true, is it?” Natalie said in an interview with Stellar magazine.

She went on to say Seven has always had her back and even though she put on 20kg while having her two children and "got fatter and fatter, no one cared”.

Natalie revealed on KIIS FM how shocked she was when she was offered the hosting role on Sunrise.

“There was a call from the big boss who said, ‘How about it?’” she revealed.

“I said, ‘Oh, OK, yeah right’.

“I was actually really nervous. I was so nervous that one of the bosses who called actually said, ‘Are you sure you want this?’

Natalie said she thought: “I’m just not that person. If Sam had wanted to stay there for another ten years, that was fine with me.”

After chatting with her husband about the role at home, Natalie said she realised she would regret it if she turned down such a big opportunity.

Nat Barr and Samantha Armytage's Sunrise 'feud'

In June, Natalie opened up about her relationship with Sam during an interview with Australian Women's Weekly, where she addressed rumours of a rift between the two.

"The truth is we didn't really see each other outside the office," she explained. "We had vastly different lives, I guess."

"We were in different places. She was hanging with her friends, and I was spending time with my family. So, yes, we were in different places."

A few days later, Sam was pushed to respond to Nat's comments during a chat with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson.

"[Nat] did an interview where she said you guys weren't that close because you didn't have a lot in common and that you wouldn't really talk when the cameras were off," Jackie O stated.

In reply, Sam took a thinly-veiled swipe at her former colleagues, adding, "I thought everyone might forget about me when I was having my little sabbatical, but it seems they're not, you know?"

Following the radio interview, Sam took to Twitter to elaborate on what she said on-air and instruct Nat to 'get on and enjoy' her hosting role on Sunrise.

"Look... I'm out. Nat's wanted the job, forever.. & she's finally got it.
