“Suits: L.A. ”Welcomes Back the Iconic 'Greenback Boogie' Theme Song in New Teaser
'Suits: L.A.' premieres Feb. 23 on NBC
The first look at Suits: L.A. is here!
On Friday, Nov. 22, the first trailer for the Suits spinoff was released, giving fans a look into the series, starring Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg. The 30-second clip offers a glimpse inside the new offices and teases the dynamic between Amell’s Ted Black and his staff.
Although there were no words spoken in the preview, the classic Suits theme song, “Greenback Boogie” by Ima Robot, played in the background. It concluded with the premiere date, Feb. 23.
In February 2024, Amell, 43, opened up to PEOPLE about playing Ted Black in the highly-anticipated series. According to the official description, his character is a "charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others."
"I'm very excited. It's something very new and different for me — talky-talky, not punchy-punchy,” he told PEOPLE at the time.
The Suits: LA's official logline reads: "Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved."
It was also recently revealed that Gabriel Macht, who starred in the original legal drama, would be making a three-episode appearance in the reboot as his character Harvey Specter. Macht took to Instagram on Nov. 20 to share a video of his outfit — a dress shirt with the initials “H.S.” stitched into it and shoes with the name “Harvey” printed in the soles.
“When an old friend is in need… it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right,” he captioned the post.
It isn’t clear if any other familiar faces will appear on Suits L.A., but Macht’s co-star Patrick J. Adams, who played Mike Ross, admitted in January that he would join the reboot if given the opportunity.
"If we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I'm ready to suit up again,” Adams told ET's Rachel Smith during Variety and ET's Golden Globes 2024 pre-show. “I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people."
