Spoilers: Home and Away's shock arrival tears Theo and Kirby apart

Last week on Home and Away, a snap decision put Bree Cameron’s (Juliet Godwin) life in danger, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) was rushed to hospital and Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) was left heartbroken.

This week, a surprise arrival shocks Summer Bay, a medical emergency leaves Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) horrified, and Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) is determined to make his uncles proud.

The band Lyrik are chasing success after success, with their latest music video going viral online.

While Kirby Aramoana (Angelina Thomson) and Theo Poulos (Matt Evans) seem to be solid as a couple, Theo’s world comes crashing down when Kirby’s ex arrives in Summer Bay.

In an attempt to win his ex-girlfriend back, the former lead singer Bob (Rob Mallett) antagonises Theo and casts doubt over his future with the band.

“Bob’s return is very stressful for Theo as he has potential to get in the way of his relationship with Kirby,” Matt Evans tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

Theo [also] has some insecurity around whether Bob has come back to reclaim his place as Lyrik’s frontman.”

In an attempt to prove that he is a bigger man, Theo sidesteps to allow his girlfriend Kirby time to sort out any lingering feelings for Bob.

While Theo worries about the outcome, Matt tells us that his character ‘trusts’ Kirby not to break his heart.

“Theo is very serious about Kirby. He adores her interest in music which is similar to his, and her musical skills are out of this world. He puts her up on a pedestal and would do anything for her,” he says.

At this stage, it looks like Bob could tear the couple apart.

Mackenzie freezes during a medical emergency

Mackenzie has always prided herself on being a confident and independent woman. However, she finds herself on the back foot when a Salt patron collapses in the middle of the restaurant.

Frozen to the spot, she watches helplessly as Xander Delaney (Luke Van Os) jumps into paramedic mode and helps save the patron’s life.

The Salt owner is overcome with guilt and decides that she has to brush up on her first aid skills.

While Nikau offers words of support and says you can’t always prepare for a disaster, Mackenzie continues to be overcome with guilt.

Will Mackenzie be able to get past this traumatic event?

Nikau makes a vulnerable admission

Just months after the Parata family were rocked by Ari Parata’s (Rob Kipa-Williams) sudden death, Nikau shocks Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) with his extreme behaviour.

While Tane is planning a laid-back wedding with fiancée Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis), Nikau is determined to be the greatest best man ever.

After Nikau takes the wedding planning into his own hands and becomes controlling, Tane starts to be concerned by his nephew’s behaviour.

When pushed by Tane, Nikau makes an emotional admission — if Ari was still alive, his uncle would be an incredible best man.

Although Tane is touched, he wants Nikau to know that he doesn’t need to carry this burden alone.

Weddings are usually fraught with disaster in Summer Bay, so only time will tell if Nikau will snap under the pressure.
