Sophie Monk reveals why she's always said no to I'm A Celebrity

She’s won Celebrity Apprentice, judged Australia’s Got Talent, starred on The Bachelorette and hosted both Love Island and Beauty and the Geek, but there’s one reality show that Sophie Monk has consistently said ‘no’ to.

Chatting with Yahoo Lifestyle, the TV personality admits that she’s been offered I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! “a million times” but has always turned it down.

“I just think at the moment I love the jobs I’ve got,” she explains when asked about why she’s never appeared on the show.

“I'm fine with that, and I'm pretty lazy, to be honest. I’ve got two shows that I love and I’m like, that’s all I want to do this year, that’s awesome.”

While she might not be appearing in the jungle anytime soon, the TV host says she definitely hasn’t shut down the possibility of returning to reality TV as a contestant.

“I love reality TV. I don't know why there are some people in this industry that look down on it,” she says.

“I think it's awesome. I did The Masked Singer not long ago, so I’d definitely do reality TV again, depending on the show.

“It would just have to be the right show and the right timing. I just think they’re fun and they're an adventure and you learn so much from being in those environments under the pump.”

‘It’s a hobby’

Outside of her TV career, Sophie recently made a return to music when she released her jazz-influenced single Nice To Meet You.

The singer, who shot to stardom on Popstars in 1999 as a member of the girl group Bardot, tells Yahoo Lifestyle she loves making music but has no immediate plans for future releases.

“It's so expensive unless a record label backs you and you tour and stuff,” she details. “I'd love to, I should get into just doing it because I love it more than anything.

“It was just a lot of time and you're doing everything yourself. But it was just fun to get back to what I love doing. You know, for me it's a hobby.”

Speaking about what else is on her career bucket list, Sophie admits she’d love to do more comedic work in her career.

“I love comedy,” she says. “If I was to act again, I'd love to go into comedy a bit.

“I thought about stand up but you’ve got to write it all and nah, it sounds like a lot of work,” she adds with a laugh.
