The rap-rock vocalist, whose birth name was Seth Binzer, formed Crazy Town with Bret “Epic” Mazur in 1999. The hit single “Butterfly” rose to the top of the charts, and their debut album, The Gift of Game, sold 1.5 million copies.

The band initially broke up following the commercial failure of their sophomore effort, 2002’s Darkhorse. They reunited five years later, and put on their third (and final) album, The Brimstone Sluggers, in 2015.

Shellshock also made a go at a solo career. His solo record, Happy Love Sick, was released in 2004.

He was one of nine celebrities featured on the debut season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab in 2008. He graduated with his fellow cast members — which included Daniel Baldwin (Homicide: Life on the Street), porn star Mary Carey, Jeff Conaway (Grease), Jaimee Foxworth (Family Matters), pro wrestler Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, model Brigitte Nielsen, UFC champ Ricco Rodriguez and Jessica Sierra (American Idol) — but quickly relapsed, and returned for Celebrity Rehab Season 2. Shellshock then went on to appear in two seasons of the follow-up series Sober House.
