Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Celebrate Engagement with a Toast in Behind-the-Scenes Video Set to One of Her Songs

The music mega-producer soundtracked their champagne toast with fitting lyrics from Gomez’s 2015 song “Good for You”

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are toasting to their love.

Blanco, 36, shared an Instagram video on Saturday, Dec. 14, of the happy couple clanking champagne glasses together. In the very short clip, Gomez, 32, smiled widely and her engagement ring sparkled as she toasted her fiancé, who had proposed on Wednesday Dec. 11.

The music mega-producer soundtracked their champagne toast with Gomez’s 2015 song “Good for You,” specifically with the part where she sings, “I'm on my marquise diamonds.” Fittingly, Blanco proposed to Gomez with a large marquise diamond set on an eternity band.

The toast appears to have occurred during their Dec. 11 engagement picnic, which included Gomez's favorite meal from Taco Bell.

"It was very her," a source exclusively told PEOPLE about the special moment. "It was a total surprise to Selena."

Later in the evening, the couple had an "impromptu gathering" with their friends and family to celebrate their occasion, the insider added.

"Benny and Selena were so excited to share the news right away with their loved ones," the source said. "It's such a true partnership between them."

The Only Murders in the Building star shared the big news with her followers on Instagram, captioning a series of photos, including her ring, with "forever begins now."

The engagement post has received more than 21 million likes, and many A-listers cheered on the couple on the next step of their love story.

“Yes I will be the flower girl,” her friend Taylor Swift replied.

"HONEY!! Congratulations sweet mama!" Jennifer Aniston commented

Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building costars also chimed in.

Steve Martin shared a photo of himself, Martin Short and Gomez on Instagram on Thursday, Dec. 12, and captioned it, "Congratulations to Benny and Selena, from her two weird uncles."

Gomez and Blanco started dating in December 2023, and she confirmed their relationship when she "liked" fan account posts of the pair on Instagram. They had already known each other for years, having collaborated on “I Can’t Get Enough’ with Tainy and J Balvin in 2019.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Emmys in January.

In November, Blanco opened up to PEOPLE about his relationship with the Emilia Pérez star during his interview for the Sexiest Man Alive issue.

"I have a true best friend that I get to do everything in the world with, and every day is the best day of my life," Blanco said of Gomez.
