Yahoo Lifestyle Savannah Chrisley Believes 'Things Will Move Quick' with Boyfriend Robert Shiver After He's Officially Divorced

Savannah Chrisley and Robert ShiverSavannah Chrisley is sharing her future plans with boyfriend Robert Shiver.
On the Dec. 23 episode of her Unlocked podcast, Nanny Faye Chrisley joined Savannah, 27, to discuss when the couple plans to get married and start a family. Sharing that she wants to take the next steps in their relationship as soon as possible, Savannah explained that there is one thing holding them back.
“When his divorce is official, I think things will move quick,” she said. “Because again, he's almost 40, so if he had a child at 40, he's going to be 60 when they're 20. I want my kids to be able to enjoy life with him as adults, so it has got to happen sooner rather than later.”
When Nanny Faye asked if the couple would start trying to have a baby now, the Chrisley Knows Best alum insisted that the status of Shiver’s divorce was a dealbreaker.
“Do you think I want to have a child with him while he's still legally married?” Savannah asked her grandma.
“I wouldn't say that years ago because we didn't do stuff like they do now, but right now time’s running out for me so I don't care if it happens today,” Nanny Faye replied. “I could play with it and it’ll give me something to do!”
An unenthused Savannah quipped, “Okay, well I'm not going to have a child with someone that is still legally married.”
She added that once Shiver is divorced, she would consider trying to get pregnant before they tie the knot.
“Do I believe [in a] perfect world, yes, having a child when you're married? 100%, that's your perfect image,” Savannah went on to say. “But if I had a child with him and we weren't married, I'm fine with that. But you just can't be married to someone else when I have that child. That's a whole different story.”

Savannah Chrisley Dating Robert ShiverEarlier in the episode, Nanny Faye revealed that she spent some important quality time with Shiver for the first time on Thanksgiving. Although the two had met before, she said they hadn’t gotten the chance to get to know each other very well.
“And what did you tell [my dad Todd Chrisley] afterwards?” Savannah questioned.
“I told him that [Robert] was good for you because he understands somebody that wants to know everything and he just don't pay her no attention,” Nanny Faye joked. “He just goes on and he's good for her and I don't have anything to say bad about him because he's always been kind and good.”

“But he's more mature,” she added.
“Well yeah, I mean. I would hope so. He's almost 40!” Savannah chimed in.
“He’s settled with his life,” Nanny Faye continued. “He's got three kids to raise and potentially another one.”

PEOPLE broke the news of Savannah's relationship with Shiver in September 2023. She later told PEOPLE about the challenges of maintaining a long-distance relationship with the former athlete.
“They suck. I'm just saying, at first they're so easy, but then when you have big life moments and holidays that you don't get to spend together, that's really tough," she said.
"It's also hard because he has kids," she continued, noting how she also has custody of her younger siblings Chloe and Grayson while their parents serve their time. "There's rarely time of just he and I, so we do have to be better at kind of carving out time like that. But I don't know. I'm up for any and all tips when it comes to long-distance relationships because they can be really, really tough.”
Before Savannah, who was previously engaged to late professional ice hockey Nic Kerdiles, Robert had been married to now ex Lindsay Shiver since 2007. Robert previously made headlines in July 2023 after he survived an alleged murder plot orchestrated by Lindsay, who is the mother of his three children, and her alleged boyfriend, Terrence Bethel.
Lindsay and Bethel were arrested that July alongside alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr. As of October, a court ruling obtained by WDHN indicated that Lindsay and Bethel's bail was revoked after they gave a series of TV interviews. The pair have since reported back to a Bahamas jail.
Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold Jr. previously pleaded not guilty to all charges. They are expected to appear in court in March 2025.
