Finn Wolfhard dreams of one day stepping on Saturday Night Live's Studio 8H stage.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE as he promotes his partnership with Ring, the actor, 21, also opens up about his role in Saturday Night and what his dream SNL hosting gig would look like.

Thinking about an SNL moment that he would want to recreate or put a fresh spin on, Wolfhard points to the Underground Rock Festival sketch, which followed a hardcore rock and rap festival hosted by D.J. Supersoak (Jason Sudeikis) and Lil' Blaster (Nasim Pedrad).

"They were hosts of this terrible metal festival, and they would do themed commercials announcing the lineup," Wolfhard says. "I was watching that recently and I thought it was so funny because it's just an excuse to basically name a bunch of random bands. I think that sketch would be really funny to bring back."

As for a dream musical guest should he ever host SNL, the Stranger Things star says, "I think it'd be fun to have an indie rock band or a '90s alt band. I think that'd be cool."
