Sandy Liang’s Spring 2025 Girl Is a Secret Agent

Sandy Liang continued her tried-and-true design codes for spring 2025, giving her downtown cool girl aesthetic a spy-inspired update influenced by the animated kids’ series “Totally Spies.”

She used the inspiration to update her signature uniform styles. There were Liang’s take on the classic skirt suit, which was given a youthful feel with satin fabrics, fitted silhouettes and miniskirts. This vibe was also seen through Liang’s new range of corporate-inspired pieces, such as a puff sleeve jacket paired with matching capris.

Liang leaned into her signature femininity but updated several styles with a focus on functionality, something that’s become more crucial to her since becoming a mother this year.

“I’m just such a New York girl and practical even more so now that I’m in mom mode,” she said.

She added new concepts, including updates to her A-line dresses, bow-embellished pieces and popular metallic handbags and ballet-inspired shoes. “It’s just building on last season and not always trying to do something brand new,” she said. “It’s self-referencing and then going back to that New York mentality of just being practical. It’s what I’m into and it’s not like you have to make something new for the sake of making something new. That feels very exhausting for me.”

She experimented with several sequin-embellished styles, like a chain-mail set and floral appliqué dress that was a departure from the uniform dressing and pared-down silhouettes in the bulk of the collection.

Liang’s spring collection was consistent with her design codes and true to her customer base.
