Sam Heughan Admits He Plotted to 'Steal a Lot' of Items From 'Outlander'

Sam Heughan was hoping to get away with swiping some souvenirs from the Outlander set.

After wrapping the eighth and final season of the hit Starz drama series, Heughan admitted that there were certain items he always planned on taking once the show was over—but the producers ended up beating him to it.

"They actually gifted me my kilt, my jerkin," the Scottish actor said during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon while confessing, "I always had my eye on it. and I was like 'I'm going to steal this on the last day.'"

"I think think they knew," he added of the show's producers, claiming, "I think they guessed that i was going to go for it."

But before the producers caught on to him, Heughan, 44, said he had planned to "steal a lot of shit" from the set.

Fortunately for him, in addition to the kilt and jerkin, Heughan also got to keep the "ginger wig" that his character Jamie Fraser wears, as well as his boots.

"And it's now sitting in my house so if I ever need a little Jamie Fraser in my life," he quipped.

While talking to Fallon about the show's final season, Heughan had bittersweet emotions after spending 11 years and over 100 episodes working on the series.

"It's been a real rollercoaster and there's a huge gap I think in my life from that show, but it's been incredible," he explained. "The friends I've made, the cast, the crew. it's like family."

"How do you end something like that?" he added.

The Season 7 finale of Outlander airs Friday, Jan. 17, while Season 8 is expected to air sometime later this year.
