Sabrina Carpenter Didn't Want to Share Her Spotify Wrapped Because She Was on It — But Admits 'I F--- with What I Do'
The "Espresso" singer's No. 1 was Spotify's most-streamed song this year
Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Espresso” is so infectious that she even she can’t stop listening!
The pop star revealed that she made the cut on her own Spotify Wrapped list of top artists this year — and initially had mixed feelings.
“It’s funny because when I first saw mine, my initial reaction was, ‘Oh damn, I can’t post that, because I’m on my own [list]. It’s a bit conceited,’” she told Vogue Arabia.
Eventually though, Carpenter, 25, realized it’s for the best that she’s a fan of her own music.
“Then I was like, I guess it’s a good thing that I’m on my list and listening to my own music, because it means I f--- with what I do,” she said. “But the other ones were Dolly Parton, ABBA, Kacey Musgraves and the Bee Gees.”

The “Taste” singer wasn’t alone in listening to her music. "Espresso” ended the year as Spotify’s most-streamed song, having been streamed more than 1.6 billion times since its release in April. Her album Short n’ Sweet was also No. 3 on the most-streamed albums of the year on Spotify, trailing just Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.
“most streamed song on @spotify and @applemusic ?!?!! and you guys made me the #1 artist on @tiktok this year…. What the hell….Thank you guys so much. can’t profess my gratitude enough. I love you endlessly !!!!!,” Carpenter wrote on Instagram.
The star recently wrapped the North American leg of her Short n’ Sweet Tour in November, and is set to continue it in Europe next year.
“I have always dreamt of bringing this tour to life but it was even better than I could have imagined because of every crowd that showed up and gave 100% of their energy and time,” she wrote on Instagram. “Best dressed crowds on the market. Funniest signs I’ve ever seen. Every lyric and background vocal sung to perfection. I could not ask for better fans.”
On Dec. 6, she released the Netflix special A Nonsense Christmas, which features songs off her 2023 Fruitcake EP and comedy sketches, plus guest appearances from stars like Chappell Roan and Shania Twain.
Roan, 26, was among the stars who did share their Spotify Wrapped lists on social media. She revealed her top song was Heart’s 1977 classic “Barracuda,” writing in an Instagram caption, “top song was barracuda ofc.”
The artists she listened to most were Ariana Grande, Charli xcx, Heart, Justice and Kacey Musgraves.
