Rolling Stones’ Ron Wood Reunites with Rod Stewart at 80th Birthday Party
Rod Stewart got a big surprise for his 80th birthday—and it involved his longtime friend and former bandmate, Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones.
Wood, 77, took to Instagram this week to share pics from a surprise birthday party for Stewart, including a shot of Wood and his wife, Sally Wood, posing with Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster.
The post also featured a video of the two rock stars laughing with their faces pressed against each other and another snap of the guitar player and the "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" singer smiling for the camera.
"🥳😎🎂Really fun night celebrating Rod’s 80th!" Wood wrote in his caption.

Fans loved seeing the legendary musicians—who were both members of English rock band The Faces in the '70s—together again.
"Masters of the Universe," wrote one person.
"Amazing! Thank you both for a lifetime of music memories. Happy Birthday Rod!" a second commenter chimed in.
"Love these legends faces reunion please! ❤️" begged someone else.
Sally, 47, also posted about the milestone evening on Instagram, sharing the same photo of the two couples and crediting Lancaster with planning the event.
"@sirrodstewart @penny.lancaster @ronniewood celebrating Sir Rod’s 80th birthday ~ the most beautiful night. Thank you @penny.lancaster for being the best surprise party organiser ever, we love you both 💕🎂🎁🎈🎂🥳,” she wrote in her caption.
Stewart celebrated his birthday in advance of his surprise party with an Instagram post of his own featuring a series of throwback photos and videos from his memorable career (including an onstage photo of himself and Wood).
"Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes – 80 years young! 🥂," Stewart wrote. "What an incredible journey it’s been – from unforgettable moments on and off the stage to earning some truly special honors along the way. But above all, my greatest joy has always been performing for you. Cheers to the memories we’ve made and the ones still to come! #80YearsOfRod."
