While Robert Irwin typically uses Instagram to share his wildlife encounters and photography, his latest post has shown off his hilarious sense of humour.
The 19-year-old posted a video on Tuesday giving his followers an exclusive look at his 'new house', complete with a dilapidated outhouse, rotting timber stairs, and plenty of spiders.
“How much do you pay for rent in the outback?” Australia Zoo’s general manager Luke Reavley asked from behind the camera.
“Oh not much at all actually,” Robert replied. “Do you want me to show you around?”
The Wildlife Warrior began his tour of the abandoned Queenslander by opening a broken gate and attempting to climb a set of stairs missing most of the steps.
“Watch the steps, I just got them put in,” he remarked before falling through two different planks of rotted wood.
Robert was then shown relaxing in an old rusty bed, which left a large dirt patch on the back of his T-shirt, before walking to what he described as the “alfresco area”.
“It’s so nice when you don’t have to worry about silly things like windows,” he said, sticking his arms through the empty window frames.
The next room was the kitchen where he attempted to open the shredded curtains, sweep the dirty floor with a broken broom, and open a large, rusty appliance that almost toppled over.
“This is just such a great spot to entertain. These guys love it,” he joked in reference to the large spiders around the ceiling.
To end the house tour, Robert sat in a metal outdoor bathtub and showed off the outhouse, which was almost completely destroyed.
“It’s so well-appointed, so much natural light,” he said. “It's just a nice place sometimes just to sit and just enjoy the serenity.”
'Most entertaining thing I've seen all year'
Robert’s followers were in stitches over the video, with his sister Bindi writing: “This is my favourite. So. Funny.”
“Landlord special, $2,100 a month,” one fan joked, while another added, “Hello MTV, welcome to my crib! Outback edition”.
“Robert’s second career… a comedian,” a different user remarked.
“Man, the stairs part had me dying,” a fourth shared, followed by someone else who said, “This was easily the most entertaining thing I've seen all year. I freaking love it”.
Others added that Robert has his dad Steve's sense of humour, with one person commenting: “Can’t teach that level of comedic timing, well done!”
