Robert Irwin was revealed as a Gold Logie nominee on Sunday night, with the 20-year-old the youngest male to ever be nominated for the prestigious award thanks to his work on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Kylie Minogue won the Gold Logie when she was just 19 in 1988, and Delta Goodrem was also 19 in 2004 when she was nominated for the same award.

Alongside Robert, the other Gold Logie nominees are Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Sonia Kruger (who won last year) and Tony Armstrong. Robert is also up for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.

Appearing on The Project on Sunday night with his I'm A Celebrity co-host Julia to speak about their nominations, the hosts asked them if they were nervous to tell each other about their nominations in case the other didn't get on.

"We actually found out at the same time," Julia told them.

"We did, and that's just like a win in itself – the fact that we get to have this whole experience together," Robert said. "It's a dream come true. It's the absolute best."

"It's cool, though, because this is a first for me, this is unchartered territory, it's all so new and it feels like stepping into that I'm A Celebrity world, I had Julia there to help guide me through and it's the same thing with this. We just get to hit it as a team and so it's awesome, hey? It's so much fun."

"Let's talk about the competition," Hamish Macdonald said, with the pair then asking the audience if they could win the award together, with Robert joking, "We'll just do that, we'll keep it simple!"

Julia joked that she was just happy to be recognised, "I'm just happy anyone's still saying my name!"

Robert's mum, Terri Irwin also commented, writing, "I voted!"

Despite Robert landing his first big presenting gig this year on I'm A Celebrity, many fans added that the nomination was "long overdue".
