Reneé Rapp couldn't help but tap into the "very mindful, very demure" trend for her latest look. The Mean Girls star attended InStyle's 30th Birthday celebration and put a cutesy spin on power dressing for her appearance on the red carpet.

For the event—which took place at NYC's BOOM at The Standard Hotel on September 12—Rapp appeared in an oversize taupe brown suit jacket and matching oversized pants for a relaxed, but stylish, vibe. Instead of completing the power suit with a standard button down top, she opted for a black pinstriped button down with frilly white lace trim around the collar and sleeve cuffs.

Rapp added even more visual interest through her her accessories—she wore dangling silver chainmail earrings that sparkled as they caught the light and added a bit of edge by rimming her lids with coal black eyeliner.

The "Not My Fault" singer is the September cover star for InStyle's 30th anniversary issue, and talked about her fashion preferences. The star joked that her “lesbian queen is Justin Bieber,” and confessed that she "always tell my stylist: ‘Dress me like Justin.’”

Though Rapp feels more align with Bieber's early career style, the characters she's played—which often skew much more mean and feminine than she actually is—has often clouded the perception of her personality. “When I first started working [in Hollywood], I remember people being like, ‘Oh, she looks so different in real life.’ Or, ‘Wow, she dresses very different.’ I'd be like, ‘Yeah, I'm not a fucking c-nt,’" she explained. "But I get why they think that, 'cause, like, damn, if you look at some pictures of me in things I've acted in, you would literally think my name is Jessica and I want blood every day.”
