Meghan Markle's Fall-Perfect Look Included a Sweet Nod to Prince Archie
She pulled out an unexpected piece from her maternity wardrobe.
This week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their first joint appearance together in months with a new video for the first-ever Global Ministerial Conference on Violence Against Children in Colombia. Talking about online safety, the couple showed a united front not just with their show of sweet PDA, but also their coordinating outfits.
In the short clip, the royal couple matched in navy blue blazers accented with red poppy pins in honor of Remembrance Day in November—and while the Duchess of Sussex's jacket seemed unassuming at first, eagle-eyed fans recognized that she first wore the single-buttoned Ralph Lauren blazer while pregnant with Prince Archie.
Back in 2019, Markle sported the same tailored jacket at We Day in London, styling it with a black T-shirt underneath-just as she did recently. However, rather than buttoning the blazer, Markle left it open to accommodate her baby bump back then.
In both instances, she wore her long brunette hair down in loose waves with a middle part and had on natural glam that included nude lips and a subtle smoky eye.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex—who launched The Parents' Network, a support network for families dealing with online harm, earlier this year—spoke out about the importance of online safety during their virtual appearance.
"My husband and I recognize today's reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which of course has many positives, but which also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age," Markle said. "At the Archewell Foundation, we engage with young people, families, and experts worldwide learning how every aspect of a child's life—from their livelihood to their physical and mental wellbeing—now operate within an online economy that has the power to both shape, and misshape, our connections."
