Mia Farrow Reveals Why Frank Sinatra Divorced Her
It’s been over 50 years since Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatra divorced, but the Rosemary’s Baby actress is still surprising fans with tidbits of information about their short-lived marriage.
Farrow appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show on Nov. 8 to promote her Broadway play The Roommate, and spoke about her relationship with the “My Way” singer.

The star of The Purple Rose of Cairo, who married Sinatra in 1966 when she was 21 and he was 50, detailed that she was in the middle of filming the 1968 horror movie Rosemary’s Baby when they split.
“He left me because I wouldn't leave the movie when he told me to leave it. It had another month. He had some dispute with the head of the studio and he said, 'I'm taking my girl out of this,' that kind of thing,” she shared.
People reports that Farrow continued, revealing that “when he told me to leave it, I said, 'how can I leave it?' You know, I'm the daughter of a director and an actress” and that she “was in every shot” of the film. Farrow’s parents were film director John Farrow and actress Maureen O'Sullivan.
“I just thought it wouldn't happen, but it did. His lawyer came on set, served me with divorce papers,” said Farrow.
Though the marriage didn’t last, Farrow and Sinatra remained close until his death in 1998.
Earlier this year, Farrow spoke candidly about another ex-husband, Woody Allen.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Farrow was asked if she was able to separate her experiences as an actor in the controversial director’s films with their “personal trials and tribulations.” Allen married Farrow’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, and was also accused by their adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, of sexual assault.
The Be Kind Rewind star said she could separate the two, and took it one step further, saying “I completely understand if an actor decides to work with him. I'm not one who'd say, ‘oh, they shouldn't.’”
Several actors who have collaborated with Allen, including Drew Barrymore, have expressed regret for working with him in the past.
